Our Founder- Mr. Diganta Das
Days were spent tirelessly going door to door, inquiring whether people had safeguarded their finances against uncertainties. The numerous rejections during this period instilled in Mr Das the virtues of patience and a deeper understanding of the insurance market. In 1996, Mr. Das transitioned to a new role as the Chief Financial Advisor at JM Mutual Funds. This marked a significant shift from insurance to mutual funds, presenting Mr. Das with another valuable lesson. Through these dual career experiences, he discerned the subtle distinction between investment and protection. Investing involves anticipating the growth of one’s financial assets, while protection ensures that in the individual’s absence, their family can still enjoy the established standard of living.
1993 Mr Das joined as District Representative for Kotari Pioneer (first private Mutual Funds in india), This marked a significant shift from insurance to Mutual Funds, presenting Mr.Das with another valuable lesson. Through these dual career experiences, he discerned thesubtle distinction between investment and protection, Investing involves anticipating the growth of one’s financial assets while protecting ensures that in the living individual’s absence, their family can still enjoy the established standard of living.
Those who prioritize protection may not seek substantial gains but can confidently engage in market risks and ensure that their finances are safeguarded. In 2001, Mr Das commenced his journey with TATA AIA Life Insurance as an Insurance Advisor, demonstrating pragmatism, dynamism, and foresight. Within two years, his exceptional qualities propelled him to the position of Managerial Business Associate. Swiftly ascending the ranks, he became the first Tata AIA Life Insurance Partner across PAN India. Mr. Das’s unwavering dream to ascend to the pinnacle and cultivate leaders and advisors remained steadfast. Transitioning from an agent to a leadership role, our founder is a testament to the belief that anything is achievable through hard work, dedication, and commitment.
Fueled by his vision, Mr. Das established The Eklavya Institute, dedicated to nurturing individuals and transforming them into insurance experts. The ethos of inclusivity is not just a slogan; it’s a philosophy that Mr. Das embodies. A compelling illustration of this is found in the story of a person formerly a farmer who suffered crop losses during the famine. Facing adversity, he turned to Mr Das for support. Despite being new to the agency channel, Mr Das empathised and guided him through the intricacies of the insurance business.
Today, this individual has become an integral part of our core team. Mr. Das aims to extend this transformative opportunity to every youth hesitant about entering the insurance industry due to misconceptions about limited career growth, long working hours, monthly targets, and the fear of failure. Emphasizing that insurance is not just a business but a societal responsibility, Mr Das understands that the journey of a startup, especially in distribution, is challenging. The Eklavya was born in a small office of Baruipur in the year 2013, Mr.Das registered for the company and by 2014 we had all official documents to run the company as one of the major insurance distributor and training house in West Bengal. The Eklavya was not just a dream of a man to start a company, it was a vision that will take will make all the Bhart members secure, build up our nation so that just like all the grown up countries we can proudly say “Yes my finances are protected”. Bearing a promise is difficult, Mr Das tirelessly put up our core team members, Build with Love, care, guidance and small dreams we reached places where insurance was unheard of. We are true beliver in independent thinkers, we are beliver in individuals who wants to join on a mission, who would plan there way. At the Eklavya Everyone is welcomes, EVERYONE. The Journey began through hurdles, but we did’nt stop, was rejection difficult to tolerate ? not at all, we bear the social security responsibility we underand you are busy, We are the shandows that follow you wherever you go, we change our directions with chganing financial needs, we are there for you.

After a decade of inception, The Eklavya finally became a renowned name in Kolkata. The journey of The Eklavya to become the best insurance distributor finally started from an office in Baruipur. Here, we interacted with people from various walks of life, including students from reputed universities, learning about their perspectives.

The Eklavya was honoured to become a representative of the prestigious AIA President’s Club. It was an excellent opportunity to showcase our commitment to customer satisfaction and knowledge of the insurance market.

These were highly productive years for the company, during which the team grew considerably. Founder Mr Diganta Das was appointed the first official Tata AIA insurance partner, making The Eklavya a fully functional distributor firm thriving to protect more lives. The drawback was, however, that a proper head office was needed to serve the international clientele.

Through dedicated training, mentoring, and monitoring of professionals, especially the youth, The Eklavya goes one step closer to achieving its goal of providing individuals with earning opportunities in the insurance industry. The same year, Mr. Diganta Das was honoured with the prestigious Dronacharya Award for being the best in the industry.

When the world was fighting a terrible crisis, The Eklavya team was still working to serve the people with dedication, care, and love by training individuals to shine in the insurance industry. We received the highly prestigious MDRT (Million Dollar Round Table) award this year through persistence and commitment towards customer satisfaction.

It was time for The Eklavya’s expansion, and the company was now an integral part of Baruipur, a well-known area in the South 24-Parganas district of West Bengal. Apart from this, a veteran high school teacher became a leader of The Eklavya team. He took up the responsibility of educating people about savings depletion, retirement plans, financial risks, and more.

The Eklavya was already working towards educating Indian individuals about the insurance industry. Now, the company is successfully dealing with NRIs, too. Moreover, the team now has a fully functional head office in Kolkata, which will also serve as the training place for individuals. Apart from this, The Eklavya has its website now for people to check out all their services. The Eklavya also specializes in Training opportunities for advisors on NRI plans and how every Indian settling abroad can take full advantage of the Indian Insurance Policies or Benefits.

After years of successfully nurturing genuine insurance advisors, The Eklavya has acquired an office space spanning 5155 sq.ft on the 7th floor of Southend conclave, Kolkata that is set to open its doors in April 2024 and will accommodate MDRTs and advisors. New joiners at The Eklavya will receive comprehensive in-house training and mental health support under the guidance of The Eklavya mentors. This year marks a significant milestone for The Eklavya as it plans to launch its NRI channel on the website and establish a dedicated team to handle the same. Our focus is also on spreading insurance awareness into other regions of India where iit is lacking. In Bengal alone, The Eklavya aims to cover 10,000 families, safeguarding their income and pensions. A stringent code of conduct will be maintained for all employees, fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can openly express their views to their seniors.
